The Daysleeper debut cd – EveAlice – was released Monday the 4th of November 2002 in Iceland through Skifan (license only for Iceland). It entered the album charts at #12 after the first week, went up to 7th place in its second week. It has sold more than 3200 copies in Iceland (population 280.000 people) which is massive for a debut album! Their hit single “Come To Me” got massive airplay on both CHR, Hot AC and AC stations. The song reached the 2nd place on the Icelandic Chart on FM 95.7 (CHR), 13 weeks on the chart and the video was in hot rotation on PoppTivi (local MTV) and got massive requests on PikkTivi (local TRL). The video was in powerplay but still played 50% more than other songs in powerplay because of requests. “Come To Me” got extremely good results from Radio Research on FM 95.7, especially women aged 20-35 yrs. old, when the songs popularities peaked it got better results than international hits such as Eminem-Lose Yourself and Avril Lavigne-Sk8ter Boi. The first singles were “Kumbh Mela” (#2 on the Icelandic Chart – 11 weeks on the chart), “Again” (#10 on the Icelandic Chart – 11 weeks on the chart), “Down There” (#17 on the RadioX Rock Chart), “Come To Me” and “Face It All” – all major radio and music television hits! Their promotional schedule was extremely busy for the weeks before Xmas – playing on all the major TV programs including Iceland in the Morning and Iceland Today on Channel 2, AT on RUV (Channel 1) and The Deep Pool (#1 tv show in Iceland – dating game) on Skja 1. They also played on the popular FM 95.7 Kitchen Party Tour, taped and shown on PoppTivi, and their sold-out concert in Tjarnarbio (old theatre in downtown Reykjavik) was also taped and shown on PoppTivi.
