Shooti'n Blanks are known in Iceland as Land & Synir. They are also known as one of Iceland's most popular bands in recent years. They even manage to impress the alternative scene's album critics as the most talented pop band around.
Over the last three years the band has had great success with gold sales of two albums and an EP that have spawned 12 hit songs. They also performed live two to three times a week during that time and are, as a result, a very tight, energetic and experienced live act. In early 2000 coincidence took over when they met American producer/songwriter/hitmaker Jive Jones (Mandy Moore's hit single Candy). He immediately fell in love with the band and realized their huge potential. Flash, the band's lead singer/songwriter and Jive wrote a few songs together.
Now has Skifan records finished a licensing deal with London-Sire Records in the US. The deal is a break through deal becouse never before has a Icelandic mainstream rock band got a international record deal. Iceland has up to now only produced more alternative acts like Bjork and Sigurros. The album is now ready for mixing and the producer is Jive Jones recently now for the song Cowboys and Kisses with Anastacia. The band is ready for the task ahead and lets hope that future audience will take them with open arms when the ice hits the US with full force.
