Jagúar

Jagúar was formed in the summer of 1998 by six individuals that shared a passion for groovy funk, latin, soul and rock music. Six months and an infinite number of concerts later the band had made its mark on Reykjavík’s dance music culture. Jagúar’s music is most enjoyable live and that is why the band played non- stop in every club in Reykjavík. Among the band’s milestones have been the Jazz Festival in Reykjavík, a tour around Iceland, a concert in Iceland’s National Opera House and a concert with Wayne Horwitz and Zony Mash.
In December 1999 the band released their first album, Jagúar.
In June 2001 they released their second album Get the funk out and a movie called Jaguar, the Movie. The band members are guitar player Börkur Hrafn Birgisson, keyboard player Daði Birgisson, saxophone player Eyjólfur Þorsteinsson, bass player Ingi S. Skúlason, trumpet player Kjartan Hákonarson, trombone player Samúel Jón Samúelsson and drummer Sigfús Örn Óttarsson.
