Daniel started his musical career (singer/songwriter/performer) in 1987 as the front man and leading member of an icelandic band (Nydönsk) which soon became one of iceland´s pop/rock favourites, making six gold records over a period of ten years topping the charts on numerous occasions. In 1994 he produced an album with an icelandic techno/rock group (Bubbleflies – pinocchio Bad Taste Inc. 1994).

In 1995 he was one of the founders of a group called GusGus with whom he relesed two albums internationally in the years 1997(Polydistirsion) and 1999 (This is normal). (Sales figures for these albums are just over and around 300.000 units). Writing/ co Writing and performing the singles: Polyesterday (1996,1997), Believe (1997), Ladyshave (1999) and Starlovers (1999) on the London based record label 4AD records.

Between 1997 and 2000 he toured with GusGus several times to Europe (Roskilde festival (Denmark),Glastonbury festival,Tribal gathering, V97 and V99 (England), Quart festival (Norway) and festivals in Belgium, Spain, Italy, France, Germany ,Holland,North America (East and West coasts), Canada and Mexico city.

Early last year he left GusGus and started his own project. With this project his ambition is to produce a unique blend of symphonic orchestation and pop melodies which he has constructed, composed and arranged for the past couple of years. The general idea is to record the album with a string section (a quintet) and to create an exceptional soundscape in the post production adding all.
