Aðalsteinn Ásberg Sigurðsson
Aðalsteinn Ásberg Sigurðsson was born in 1955 in Húsavík. After attending the Commercial College of Iceland in Reykjavík, he studied Icelandic, music and acting. He has worked as a journalist and radio announcer, and on radio programmes.
In 1977 he made his literary debut with a book of poetry. He lived in Norway for some time but now lives in Reykjavík as a full-time writer, lyricist, songwriter and musician. Apart from children´s books, Aðalsteinn has published 9 volumes of poetry, a novel and short stories, along with many recordings of his lyrics and songs. He is currently the president of the Writer´s Union of Iceland.
