Brain Police
Brain Police was formed in 1998 and Stoner Rock hit Iceland for the first time with full force. The power of Brain Police was not to be missed and soon they got known for their massive live shows and unique style. In their second year they were asked to record two songs for a compilation album and that same year the band entered a talent contest and won. The prize: A record deal. Brain Police recorded the album Glacier Sun that was released early 2000. That same year the band was asked to record one song for an Icelandic film called Óskabörn Þjóðarinnar. That was the last song the band recorded with their original singer. In the beginning he was supposed to be the second guitarist but became the singer because the guys couldn't find the right singer at that time. Anyway, after the recording of the song he left and the band began playing instrumental music for a while - auditioning singers all the time but no one seemed to fit - until BP got their friend from up north to come to Reykjavik and sing and everything just clicked at the first rehearsal. This was the singer the band always hoped to get. This happened early 2002 and since then they have been rehearsing, writing songs and playing live as much as possible.
Last year Brain Police released a 3 song promo-album called Master Brain (Grassbumper Records) and the response was very good to say the least. Brain Police are currently one of Iceland hottest bands and proved that by topping the charts of the most popular rock station in Iceland, with the number one song Jacuzzi Suzy.
Brain Police released their second album, entitled Brain Police in 2003. The album is powerful; energizing and spaced out stoner rock not to be missed! In 2004 they released the album Electric Fungus.
